2026 Chinese Herbal Medicine Study Program

The 2026 Chinese Herbal Medicine Study Program begins on January 22, 2026. This program is ideal for anyone looking to improve their clinical use of herbs and formulas. It offers a thorough overview of applying herbs and formulas in clinical practice, including detailed case-based discussions. It also covers aligning herbs and formulas with the Qi of 2026, a Yang Fire Horse year. Throughout the program, participants learn from Christine and each other, fostering a sense of community and support.
The program has six modules, with a two-week break between each one. Modules can be taken individually.

Classes are held on Thursdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm MST.

All classes are recorded and accessible to participants for two years.

68 NCCAOM PDA CEU points for the complete program. 12 points each for Modules 1 through 5, and 8 points for Module 6.

About the  Program

2026 Course Content, Calendar, and Cost

The program consists of 5 six-week modules of 2-hour live lectures each week and 1 4-week module. Each class is recorded and can be accessed up to two years by program participants.

What You Will Learn

  • The theoretical principles on the use of Chinese herbal medicine

  • How to apply herbs and formulas to align with a year's Qi. For example, 2026 is the Year of the Yang Fire Horse, and there are herbs, formulas, and dietary recommendations we can apply to provide support during the year.

  • How to use the different forms of Chinese medicine – decoction, powder, or pills, for example

  • Herb-drug interactions

  • 25 categories of herbs and key formulas that relate to each category

  • Explore herbs and formulas from each category that are commonly used in clinical practice

  • Diagnostic, clinical information and “treatment tips” for each category

  • Documented and academically agreed upon cautions and contraindications

Modules 1 through 5 each have 12 PDA hours per module, and Module 6 has 8, for a total of 68 program hours.

Course Schedule (Thursdays 11:00 am–1:00 pm MST)

  • Module 1: January 22 through February 26

    • ​Module 1 of the 2026 Chinese  Herbal Medicine Study Program starts on January 22, 2026. Module 1 covers the theoretical principles of Chinese herbal medicine, and Relieve the of Surface Wind Cold and Wind Heat herbs and formulas, and the Cool Blood and Clear Heat herbs and formulas. This module will also include information about how to work with the Qi of 2026, and the Yang Fire Horse.

  • Module 2: March 19 through April 23

    • ​Module 2 of the 2026 Chinese  Herbal Medicine Study Program starts on March 2nd, 2026. Module 2 covers herb drug interactions and herbs and formulas that Clear Heat and Dry Damp, Clear Heat and Toxins, Resolve Food Stasis and are Moist Laxatives and purgatives. This module will also include information about how to work with the Qi of 2026, and the Yang Fire Horse.

  • Module 3: May 14 through June 18

    • ​Module 3 of the 2026 Chinese  Herbal Medicine Study Program starts on May 14th, 2026. Module 3 covers herbs and formulas that Drain Damp, Resolve Wind Damp, Transform Damp, and Dispel Hot and Cold Phlegm. This module will also include information about how to work with the Qi of 2026, and the Yang Fire Horse.

  • Module 4: July 9 through August 13

    • ​Module 4 of the 2026 Chinese  Herbal Medicine Study Program starts on July 9th, 2026. Module 4 covers herbs and formulas that Regulate Qi, Regulate and Move Blood, and Stop Bleeding. This module will also include information about how to work with the Qi of 2026 and the Yang Fire Horse.

  • Module 5: September 3 through October 8

    • ​Module 5 of the 2026 Chinese  Herbal Medicine Study Program starts on September 3rd 2026. Module 5 covers herbs and formulas that Warm the Interior and Tonify Qi, Blood, Yin, and Yang. This module will also include information about how to work with the Qi of 2026 and the Yang Fire Horse.

  • Module 6: October 29 through November 19

    • ​Module 6 of the 2026 Chinese  Herbal Medicine Study Program starts on October 29th, 2026. Module 6 covers herbs and formulas that Astringe, Anchor Yang and Calm the Spirit, Nourish the Heart and Calm the Spirit, and Dispel Wind Stop Tremors. This module will also include information about how to work with the Qi of 2026 and the Yang Fire Horse.
